Gage and I had the opportunity to witness somethings really neat today!
We were on our way to run some errands, when I seen a big crow up on the bushes next to our driveway. He just sat up there, squawking away. Now my first impression of crows are the are annoying, nasty vultures, right? Well, here's the thing, we ran back inside because as a mom, you tend to forget at least one thing when you are running errands, in my case it was a snack to convince Gage to sit in a shopping cart :)
Anyway, so we ran inside and when we came out, we seen 2 crows in our yard! They were actually in the part where we have the red beauty bark. We sat and watched them as the sorted through pieces, and d collect the ones they wanted. As Gage sat in awe of this, I began to tell him a little story how that was a Mommy and a Daddy crow and they were looking for the perfect twigs and pieces of bark so that they could make a comfortable nest for their future babies! I think Gage really liked my story! We sat and watched and Gage was so quiet, so they didn't fly away!
Then it was time to head to the store, so in the car we went and away we flew... we drove, birds flew :)
Then as I am driving, I thought that my story might have been true!

date night #2
I know this is silly, but Shane and I have only been on 1 real date since the birth of our beautiful, beloved son, Gage! It's crazy since he is going on 2 next month! But you know what, now that I think of it, I don't mind! I know tons of people that either go out all the time, or even went on a date right after their baby was born. I know it would be nice to have some alone time with my husband, but we enjoy having family time! Not saying the others don't, it's just... we never think of it I guess hehe.
Anyway, our first date was to Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery to see The Steve Miller Band last summer (Gage was 16 months old mind you), we got a bottle of Pinot Grigio and watched them play! It was great, we brought a little picnic dinner, in our picnic basket, and had our picnic blanket to sit on. The day was warm, the sun was still out, and the music was good! It was a great first date!!!
Now, we are changing it up a bit! We are doing to another show, Yes! But it is indoors, at The WaMu Theater exactly, and we are seeing Bad Religion this time! It will still be fun, since I love them (they were my very first concert in 7th grade), and since I will be with my husband!!! So I am excited for April 12th, which is a tuesday...haha

the cutest ouchie
so you know when you're little one gets hurt, you kiss it and make it all better? Well of course that is what this Mama and Papa and even Hamhaw (That's what Gage calls Grandma Linda) does! Every time Gage gets hurt, whether it's big or little, we give him feel better kisses!
Well now he is catching on.... little smartie pants! Let me tell you it is the cutest it is the cutest thing now, when nothing will even happen and Gage will come up to one of us and say "Ouchie" and of course wants kisses, and then he will go a long his merry way!
I just love this guy!!!

Wine Tasting-March for Babies
So as you all know, we are a part of a team for March for Babies! This is our second year as a family team and we are still going strong!
We had our first fundraiser this past weekend, a Wine Tasting at The Marysville Winestyles!
It was a small turn out, but most of the team was able to make it, which was GREAT! We all had a great time, and we are definitely going to to it again next year!
The owner, Eric Emery, was such a great guy to work with! He was so thoughtful and helpful, and even gave us tips how we could improve our turnout for next year!It was a great start to our fundraising! Makes we wish I had more time, so I could do these more often!!!
Cheers to Eric and his wife Vicki, for being so gracious and helping our team a long the way!!!!

23 months
There is actually a lot going on today! I realized soon after my first post of the day, that my little munchkin is 23 months old today! That means in 1 month EXACTLY he will be 2! Should I cry now or later????
It turned out to be SUCH a nice day today! We are loving this sunshine!! I am so glad we can go outside and just run around, after doggie messes are cleaned up of course :) Last year, this time, Gage wasn't walking, and I wasn't a big fan of him crawling on concrete or in the grass where dogs "mess", so this year it is a lot more fun already! He like helping me pull weeds, he likes collecting the gravel and putting it in the bucket and carrying the bucket around! We also found out that Cashius loves Gage's soccer ball.... guess we will have to get HIM a new one ;)
He loves riding on his tricylce, I am betting within a monthhe will be peddling by himself!!!
Then of course we came inside, and played some play-doh!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!
Today you would have been 74!
I thought it would get easier as time went on.
Yesterday was rough, because I knew it was leading up to today, which is worse!
I love you Dad, very very much!
I wish you were here, there have been many, many times, where I needed to talk to you!
Happy Birthday Papa!!!
I love you with all my heart!!!

man toy
So yesterday, Shane got to mow the yard for the first time this spring! I say "Got To" since he has a brand new toy to use and I do believe he was actually excited to use it!
We had a lawn mower that was just a mulcher, that he had to rake our yard afterwards, which I am sure was not the highlight of his day!
But now he has a Troy Built, with a bag! How excited does he look, HEHE!
Now we can get started on building our raised vegetable garden, which I am excited about! That way we can have fresh veggies and Gage can help plant and pick them and take care of them!!! I might have to put some kind of barbed wire fencing around it cause of Lola! :)
Oh and while Shane was mowing, I was cooking supper! This is what we had!

what a day!
It was so nice to wake up this morning with the sun shining!
Gage and I cleaned house this morning, well I cleaned and Gage tried tracking my dirt piles all over the house! :) I even got to get my Zumba on this morning! So it was a good start to a great day! We did yard work in our back yard, which is much needed, played outside with Gage, he loved stomping in the huge puddles that our patio collects.... he even got a mouth full of dirt, YUCKY! But it was fun and it was nice to be able to be outside without being all bundled up!
Then we just so happened to end the day off perfectly, with our very first BBQ of the year! Shane made some jalapeno and pepper jack cheese stuffed burgers, they were delish! I made some fruit salad with our yummy cream cheese dip and had garlic fries!!!

I was just about to write how much I love spending time with my family, and realized Gage just found out how to play 52 card pick up.... Good job Daddy! haha

food
so a while ago I caught onto this whole "post a picture of your food" on facebook thing! Now I find myself completely obsessed! I have to have my camera phone ready for when dinner is done, so that I can snap a shot once my plate is made! I only do my plates, because if I took a picture of Shane's plate it would be smothered in Saracha Sauce and overflowing :) Well I came to realize that this is an opportunity where I could use my photography skills, pull out the big guy and actually take some nice photos of my dinner and I shall post them on my blog! Well to play catch up, here are some of the items I have recently made... all from my camera phone!
So from now on, I will post on my blog, no longer on facebook, my food creations! So if you do not see a posting of dinner, I either burnt it or we ordered pizza! ;)

the little gym
Well since things have been crazy busy around here, I forgot to add a huge step in Gage's life!
Nana Loree got Gage into The Little Gym, and he absolutely LOVED it! It was so good for his climbing (which he was practicing on doing all over the house hehe) and balancing and even following directions!
When he first started he wouldn't really sit for circle time or he was super clingy to mommy! But wouldn't you know it, after just one class he became Teacher Louie's Little Allstar!!! He was so cute and was growing up right in front of our eyes! It was amazing watching him, fearlessly conquer certain obstacles... but yet I still stayed very close, even though the entire room is padded :)
Well as of Feb, he graduated class!!! It was a special day, even Hamha, Auntie Callie and Uncle Jason came to see his big day!!! Now he is off to the next greatest adventure in his life.....
